GdP Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Mehr Neueinstellungen notwendig

Angesichts einer bevorstehenden Pensionierungswelle warnt die Gewerkschaft der Polizei (GdP) vor einem drastischen Personalmangel bei der Landespolizei. Wie der Landesvorsitzende Christan Schumacher in einem Pressegespräch erläuterte, gehen bis 2020 etwa 1.100 Polizistinnen und Polizisten in Pension. Bei einem Personalbestand von nur noch knapp 6.000 Beschäftigten ist das eine erschreckende und alarmierende Zahl.

„Wir müssen jetzt gegensteuern und deutlich mehr für den Nachwuchs tun“, forderte Schumacher. „Einen Polizisten gibt es nicht fertig von der Stange. Polizisten werden drei Jahre lang intensiv auf ihren Beruf vorbereitet. Deshalb muss jetzt gegengesteuert werden damit die anstehende Pensionierungswelle durch Neueinstellungen ausgeglichen wird.“
