Radek: Eine starke Polizei ist noch kein Polizeistaat

Die Politik müsse polizeiliches Handeln für die Bürger transparenter darstellen, sagte der stellvertretende GdP-Bundesvorsitzende Jörg Radek am Dienstag im ARD-„Morgenmagazin“. Mit weiter andauernden Corona-Maßnahmen schwinde in der Bevölkerung zunehmend das Verständnis für die Polizei und schlage mitunter um in Aggressivität. Die Respektlosigkeit gegenüber der Polizei, Rettungsdiensten und der Feuerwehr halte seit einigen Jahren an. „Durch die Pandemie erleben wir, wie sich das weiter zuspitzt“, so Radek.

Wer mit starker Polizei den Rechtsstaat sichtbar mache, dürfe nicht dem Vorwurf ausgesetzt sein, Vertreter eines Polizeistaates zu sein. „Wir repräsentieren den Rechtsstaat“, betonte der GdP-Vize.

In diesem politischen Reizklima, müsse jeder, der sich an der aktuellen Debatte beteilige, sorgfältig überlegen welche Worte er wähle – egal ob Journalistin oder Parteivorsitzende. „Nicht alles von dem, was gesagt wurde, ist hilfreich. Es ist eher ein Handicap für die Arbeit meiner Kollegen.“
